Membership Benefits & Categories

The membership of WAHA can be undertaken at various levels, with the higher tiers of membership providing greater access to benefits.

Member Categories

During the membership application process, prospective members can choose the category within which they would like their company to be nominated. The categories represent different aspects of the industry and allow members to engage more specifically with other members with similar interests. The following categories presently exist:

  • Height Safety Category (for manufacturers and installers of height safety products – also covering fixed systems, passive / access systems)
  • Training Category (for training companies and those with an interest in training)
  • Confined Space Category (for manufacturers, consultants and companies with an interest in training in confined spaces)

Technical Committee

The association has a Technical Committee that is focused around the operation of the various Australian and New Zealand Standards, Codes of Practice and government Regulations that apply to equipment and operational practices in Industry. The primary purpose of the committee is to provide feedback to the Standards committees, members and regulators about the concerns of members, to provide advice about the impacts of changes in standards and codes of practice and the generally lobby for maintaining and improving the safety equipment and practices in the heights and confined space arenas.

The technical committee also has primary responsibility to sign off on the position of the WAHA with respect to all technical matters. In other words, there are differing opinions and positions for organisations with regard to what is considered ‘correct’ or ‘appropriate’. The technical committee reviews all information available has the role of forming an ‘industry position’ with is referred to the board for approval. The intent of the technical committee is to ensure that the association does not take a position that typically advantages one manufacturer, trainer or member over another.

Membership to the technical committee is limited to Full members.

Membership Structure

There are essentially 4 levels of membership available through the association:

Full member

Full members enjoy the following benefits:

  • Use of the Full Member Logo in conjunction with their product packaging, advertising materials in line with the corporate style guide;
  • Access to all category meetings and participate in the Technical Committee
  • Access for up to 5 people to attend WAHA events per session, including the annual SafefyScape conference dinner, hosted by the Safety Institute of Australia
  • Feature prominence on the WAHA website, including banner feature on the home page

Full membership is $5,500 + GST per annum.

Associate Member

Associate members enjoy the following benefits:

  • Use of the Associate Member Logo in conjunction with their product packaging, advertising materials in line with the corporate style guide;
  • Access to a single category meetings and interactions
  • Access for up to 2 people to attend WAHA events per session, including the annual SafefyScape conference dinner, hosted by the Safety Institute of Australia
  • Prominence on the WAHA website, including member overview, logos and introduction

Associate membership is $2,000 + GST per annum.

Affiliate Member

Affiliate members enjoy the following benefits:

  • Use of the Affiliate Member Logo in conjunction with their product packaging, advertising materials in line with the corporate style guide;
  • Access to a single category meetings and participate in the Technical Committee
  • Access for up to 5 people to attend WAHA events per session, including the annual SafefyScape conference dinner, hosted by the Safety Institute of Australia
  • Mention on the WAHA website under the Affiliate member listing

Affiliate membership is $495 + GST per annum.

Corporate Member
/ Personal Member

Corporate members / personal members are typically entities that would either like to support the height safety industry and / or wish to take advantage of some educational workshops from the WAHA for their employees.

Corporate memberships start from $2,000 + GST per annum.
